Processing Trauma can be particularly challenging and EMDR (which stands for Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) has been proven to be a highly effective form of therapy for traumatic and overwhelming experiences.

By using guided eye movements or tapping, EMDR helps the brain process difficult and traumatic memories so they no longer feel so intense or disruptive.

EMDR can reduce emotional intensity, shift negative beliefs, and support lasting relief without requiring detailed discussion of traumatic events. It is commonly used to treat trauma, PTSD, anxiety, and stress-related concerns.
Many people find EMDR helps them feel calmer, more grounded, and better able to move forward—without having to relive or talk through every detail of the past.
EMDR therapy is endorsed by the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence; the World Health Organisation; The International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies; the NHS (in the UK); and many other bodies.
